Lampasas River

Reminds me of the creek I used to swim in as a kid: oak trees drooping into the river, slow lazy current, the occasional catfish, the sound of cicadas.

Surrounding countryside I walked through on the way to the old bridge. You can see the mustang grape vines covering the tree in the foreground on the right. Though they are extremely sour, they are edible and my family made sweet preserves with them most years.
