I have a bit of a love affair with back-lit things. Lovely, no? This is one of those fun things you can do when you break the "rule" in photography that says never shoot into the sun. Rules schmules!
Fun odd thing to know - the six-sided shapes you see in the photograph are referred to as lens flares. They happen naturally when light hits a camera lens at certain angles. When you see a lens flare like this with a countable number of sides, you know right away that the camera lens that was used had that many "blades" that open and close when the shutter is depressed on the camera. The rounder the flare, the more blades the shutter opening has. Now isn't your life fuller for having learned that?
