It's easy to drive through South Dakota. Fire up the car, hit the highway, stop for snacks once in a while, and get to your destination. But can you imagine navigating this landscape before a highway system and the invention of cars? This is why the indigenous tribes used it as a refuge and the US Army/Cavalry dreaded it like the plague.
